Peterborough Sports 1-9 Stocksbridge Park Steels
Joe Lumsden got four and Brodie Litchfield got a hat-trick as Stocksbridge Park Steels pulled off one of their greatest wins in their history.
Chris Hilton probably deserves a knighthood or MBE after masterminding an unbelievable victory over one of the league’s big boys, who have rarely lost a game in the last two years.
The Steels were ruthless to say the least. Litchfield hit two in the first half before the Steels raised the bar with a spectacular second half display.
Lumsden netted two before Litchfield scored from close range to complete his first ever semi-professional hat-trick – with Peterborough scoring in the middle.
The Steels kept going and Rory Coleman (2) and Lumsden completed an incredible afternoon which under-lines Stocksbridge’s promotion credentials.
