Toolstation NCEL Premier Division
Ossett Albion captain Stef Holt has swapped Dimple Wells for Wayne Benn’s Hemsworth Miners Welfare.
It is a bit of a coup for Hemsworth as Holt was Shaw Lane’s player of the year for the 2014/15 season, the year they won the Premier Division title and reached the FA Vase quarter-finals.
Benn said: “I’m delighted to sign someone of the calibre of Stef. He’s been the captain of an Evostik team for the last two years and has experience of winning this league with Shaw Lane so this is a fantastic signing for us.
“It took 5 mins to sort because of Stef’s desire to join us and that just speaks volumes for the lad and the progress we are making as a football club.
“Unfortunately he isn’t available this weekend, but he will be in the squad for next week’s game against Worksop and gives us very healthy competition for places at centre half.”
Ossett albion in crisis?
Albion will want fresh faces I would have thought, so the move is no surprise
