Lincoln United 1-5 Stocksbridge Park Steels

Joe Lumsden scored twice for Stocksbridge

Stocksbridge Park Steels bounced back from the defeat to Market Drayton Town by hitting five at Lincoln to climb into the play-offs.

Team player Scott Ruthven and defender Matt Reay got the Steels off to an excellent start with goals in the opening half-hour.

Lincoln pulled a goal back, but key man Joe Lumsden restored the two-goal lead before half-time after the Steels caught their hosts out on the counter-attack.

The game was quickly sown-up at Richard Stirrup and a further goal from Lumsden extended the lead.

In truth, Stocksbridge could have easily hit a few more, like at Peterborough, as the chances continued to flow and Lumsden wasted a chance to seal his hat-trick as his penalty hit the crossbar.
