Sheffield & Hallamshire Senior Cup
Brodsworth 1-3 Nostell Miners Welfare
Former Frickley striker Neil ‘Tick’ Towler played a crucial role as Nostell Miners Welfare scored two late goals to progress into the second round of the Senior Cup.
Nostell had taken an early lead through Haydn Ward, but Alex Irwin had cancelled the goal out.
In separate incidents, Nostell’s Gerve Chipasha and Brodsworth’s Adam Richardson saw red before a frantic finale saw Nostell snatch the win in the dying minutes.
After a lot of pressure on the Brodsworth goal, Ward fed Towler who buried the ball in the net.
Billy Mole did the damage for the third goal.
