Emirates FA Cup
Solihull Moors 1-1 Ossett Town
Corey Gregory’s equaliser earned Ossett Town a priceless home replay and also put them in the hat for the first round proper.
The dream of potentially meeting a Football League in the prestigious competition are well and truly alive.
Even the second half sending-off of Gregory did not de-rail Ossett, who have never laid down a sword since their brilliant young manager Grant Black took the helm in February 2016.
Time after time, Ossett have overcome so many obstacles under Black so when Shepherd Murombedzi placed Solihull ahead, panic will not have set in.
Black said in his pre-match interview with Non League Yorkshire that his players would have to put in the performances of their lives and they certainly did tat.
Kai Hancock led Ossett’s fight-back with a testing effort before Gregory equalised with a low effort.
As to be expected, Ossett rode their luck in the second half. Goalkeeper Leigh Overton was in top form as normal and he dealt with everything he needed to.
Gregory saw red for a tackle deemed dangerous by the referee with 15 minutes to go – but even that did not prevent the mouth-watering prospect of Tuesday night’s replay at Ingfield.
