Athersley Rec boss Luke Potter has appointed his former Ossett Albion comrade Rob Tonks as his assistant manager.
Tonks retired from playing at the end of last season after a few seasons with Hemsworth Miners Welfare. He then rejoined Ossett as part of the coaching staff, but left following the departure of Richard Tracey.
Tonks, a defender as a player, has been involved with Non League football forever. He was part of the famous Emley team that played West Ham in the FA Cup third round in January 1998.
He continued to play for Emley through their various incarnations as Wakefield & Emley and Wakefield FC.
