Sheffield & Hallamshire Senior Cup
Joe Lumsden and Brodie Litchfield got doubles as Stocksbridge Park Steels cruised into the Senior Cup quarter-finals with a 5-1 win at South Kirkby.
The Steels never looked in trouble against the Sheffield & Hallamshire Senior League outfit.
Star man Lumsden struck the only goal of the first half. Litchfield, the heir to Jamie Vardy’s throne, played a key role in the second half as South Kirkby could not cope with him.
A low drive doubled the lead – effectively killing off the home side. Lumsden scored the third before South Kirkby pulled a goal back.
The Steels took advantage of tiring South Kirkby at the death. Litchfield netted his second and it became so easy that the ageing foot solider Lee Thompson put his name on the score-sheet.
