Leaders Knaresborough Town took full advantage of two of their rivals dropping points by defeating fellow promotion hopefuls Selby Town 2-1 at Manse Lane.

With Eccleshill United and Yorkshire Amateur dropping points, Paul Stansfield’s men have created a bit of breathing space for themselves.

The scores were level at half-time. Selby’s magic man Joe Dale had cancelled out Steve Bromley’s looping header.

The winner came from the penalty spot – a penalty converted by Harrogate Railway legend Dan Thirkell.

Franck Zalo gave Yorkshire Amateur the lead at Dronfield Town, but things unravelled for them as Zalo and Leon Henry were sent off in separate incidents.

Dronfield would eventually equalise against nine-man Ammers.

Graham Hall’s last minute goal rescued a point for Campion at Brigg Town in the 2-2 draw. Jay Davis also struck for Campion.

Three goals in the last eight minutes condemned Worsbrough Bridge to a 4-0 defeat at Rossington Main, who enjoyed a perfect start under Lee Danysz. Lee Holmes (2), Jason Stokes and Stephen Fletcher got the goals.

Swallownest drew 2-2 at Ollerton Town, while East Yorkshire Carnegie were beaten 1-0 at Winterton Rangers.
