New Parkgate left-back Luke Smith, pictured in claret, rising for a header during his days with Pontefract Collieries
Former Glasshoughton Welfare promotion-winner Luke Smith is back playing on the semi-professional circuit after signing for Parkgate.
Left-back Smith, who was the masseur for Championship outfit Sheffield United, has played for a host of clubs over the years including Frickley Athletic, Bridlington Town, Goole AFC and Ossett Town.
He won promotion with Glasshoughton Welfare under Craig Elliott in 2012. The previous season he was with Pontefract Collieries during the great Simon Houghton era.
Smith is the latest addition to Parkgate since the appointment of Billy Fox, who has led a major makeover of the squad.
