Grant Black is hopeful of adding reinforcements to his injury and suspension hit Ossett Town squad ahead of two big fixtures.
With suspensions looming for Kai Hancock, Issac Assenso and Anthony Mackie, combined with the fact that talismanic captain Alex Peterson is going to be out injured for a while, Black knows he is thin on the ground.
He is also well-aware that fresh bodies are required to keep their hopes of reaching the play-offs alive.
“We are talking to a centre-back who we are hoping to bring in through the door before Saturday,” Black told Non League Yorkshire.
“We need strength-in-depth, but we don’t look to bring players in for the sake of it.
“They have to fit into the group.
“There will be a couple of players in before New Year’s Day. It is an important time.
“We set a target of seven or nine points over Christmas. If we can get them I think we’re in a position to push for the play-offs over the last three or four months of the season.”
Weather-permitting, Ossett visit Droylsden tomorrow. The mouth-watering derby clash with arch rivals Ossett Albion is on New Year’s Day.
