Worsbrough Bridge took full advantage of Nostell Miners Welfare losing by winning 3-0 at fellow strugglers FC Bolsover.
In a must-win encounter, an own goal, plus strikes from Kieran Hirst and Joe Dungworth earned Bridge their win.
Lee Morris’ side are now three points ahead of third-bottom Nostell with two games in hand.
Swallownest also picked up a vital win after winning 2-1 at Winterton Rangers. Jermaine Atkins and Nathan Morritt struck for Swallownest.
A last minute goal meant East Yorkshire Carnegie lost 2-1 at Brigg Town, who moved off the foot of the table on goals difference.
