Selby Town defender Tom Hogg is one of three signings that Armthorpe Welfare manager Mike Carmody has made.

Hogg joins Welfare, alongside with Goole AFC’s Jack Bonser and local footballer Leon Wood.

Hogg is a strong defender who can also play in various other positions, while Wood is a left-sided player who has also played for Goole U21’s.

Bonser is a young midfielder who was with Welfare last season. He made 28 appearances despite missing a number of games through a bad injury before recovering towards the end of the season but left to join Goole AFC in the summer.

Carmody said, “I’m really happy to welcome the signings of Tom Hogg and Leon Wood to the club. They are players we are in desperate need of, no nonsense hard working lads who give us much more bite and determination as well as adding great quality to the squad. Tom can play numerous positions on the pitch and Leon is an excellent left sided player.

“I can also announce that Jack Bonser will be returning from a short spell at Goole. He impressed me last season with some very good displays in the division above. We all know we’ve not been anywhere near what I expect lately as team so we’ve gone out looking to strengthen the squad.”
