A Jack Greenhough own goal was the only blot on Ponte’s copybook.
Pontefract are now seven points behind leaders AFC Mansfield, with five games-in-hand.
Pickering Town remain in the promotion race after a 5-1 win over Albion Sports. Ryan Blott scored twice, with Joe Danby, Billy Logan and George Eustance chipping in.
