Colne 1-2 Ossett Town
Nicky Boshell’s superb late volley ensured Ossett Town completed the double over Colne.
The hard-fought victory ends a run of three straight league defeats and keeps hopes of a top-half finish alive.
Lee Ashforth’s Ossett got off to a dream start. In the fifth minute, Alex Low’s header across goal into the six-yard was met by the head of Ashley Jackson who only needed to get a gentle touch on it to guide it home.
Colne levelled in the first half. There was clearly a foul on Alex Peterson in the build-up, but the referee said no and Andy Hollins was able to score.
Boshell would accidentally hit the post at the end of the first half.
The winner is one to remember. Colne half-cleared the ball from their penalty area. It went straight to Boshell who had time to chest the ball and then volley into the left-hand top corner from the edge of the penalty area.
