Frickley captain Gavin Allott chases down Hyde defender Harry Coates in pre-season.

Captain marvel Gavin Allott put four past Gresley FC as free-scoring promotion-chasing Frickley Athletic spectacularly won 6-1 on the road.

The most incredible aspect of Frickley’s latest big win is that five of the goals were scored after the hour mark.

Gresley stunned their visitors by taking an early lead. That was cancelled out by a Jamie Barrett own goal and it wasn’t until Allott struck on the hour that Frickley took control.

Allott added the second before Tyler Walton got himself on the score-sheet. It was then left to Allott to finish the job with two further goals.

Stocksbridge Park Steels went down 2-1 to Peterborough Sports at Bracken Moor.

Rory Coleman was Stocksbridge’s goal-scorer.
