Worsbrough safe after draw with Brigg

Caped crusader Calan Rollinson showed his superhero qualities by scoring the goal which effectively secured Worsbrough’s safety.

Worsbrough Bridge are safe for another season after the 1-1 draw with Brigg Town at Park Road.

Either Brigg or FC Bolsover will finish second bottom and face relegation. Both teams play Selby Town in their final matches of the campaign.

Worsbrough simply had to avoid defeat to stave off the threat of relegation.

Youngster Calan Rollinson showed his superhero qualities by scoring a sublime goal in the opening two minutes to set Bridge on the final path to safety.

Brigg hit back close to half-time through Jack Tierney.

Both sides had chances in the second half. Ultimately Worsbrough, who have been involved in relegation battles in three consecutive seasons, held on to claim their precious point.
