Hallam relying on a win and a prayer

Toolstation NCEL Division One

Hallam Sam Smith scored twice

Hallam have taken their play-offs bid to the final day, but they are relying on a win and a prayer.

Hallam need to beat Knaresborough Town on Monday night and hope Glasshoughton Welfare either draw or lost at Worsbrough Bridge.

Because of their superior goal-difference a draw with Knaresborough will be good enough if Glasshoughton lose.

To take their fight to the final day, Hallam steamrolled Rossington Main in a 4-0 victory. Sam Smith (2), Mitch Dunne and Ben Thornton scored as Hallam had the game sown up by just after half-time.

Champions Knaresborough can reach the 100 point mark if they win at Hallam following the 2-0 victory at Dronfield Town.

Nick Black and Colin Heath were on target for Knaresborough.
