A host of NCEL Division One referees have been promoted to Level 3 status, including five well-known Sheffield & Hallamshire FA officials.
Gareth Thomas, Matthew Tyers, Callum Gough, Danny Guest and Ben Tomlinson are all making the step-up – all five fully deserved their elevation.
Tyers and Gough have been handed control of the play-offs semi-finals next week, while Thomas will take charge of the final.
All five are well-respected by clubs and rarely involved in controversy so many will be sad to see them move onto higher climbs.
The West Riding have less familiar names making the step-up in Lewis Dawson, Michael Coles and Akeel Ahmed, but that’s because they do not regularly appear on the NCEL circuit.
All eight officials will be able to referee games in the Premier Division, plus the two Evo Stik Divisions next season.
They can’t be worse than the current lot as evidenced by Tuesday night
Well done all of you that’s brilliant news and you all deserve the step up we’ve had you home and away couldn’t fault anything on any decision you made and was always will to talk after every game
Well done lads
