Sam Leigh is Goole AFC’s new chairman
Goalkeeper Sam Leigh is the new chairman and majority shareholder of Goole AFC, it has been announced today.
The former Hemsworth Miners Welfare and Ossett Town stopper will oversee the club’s return to the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division.
A club statement said: “Sam will be looking to form his own board going forward and another announcement will be made later in the week.
“Sam, who last season was part of the playing squad, runs a very successful business of his own and is very much looking forward to the challenges ahead.
“He will be looking for the local community and all fans to get involved in trying to bring back Evo-Stik football to the VPG.
“There has already been a great response from existing sponsors in continuing their support and Sam is hoping to build on this in the weeks ahead.”
