Brighouse Town have been moved into the new Evo Stik East Division as Andover Town have resigned from being a step four club.
Andover’s resignation has also promoted AFC Mansfield from the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division to fill the vacant place. Mansfield had the best points-per-game ratio from across the country.
It is definitely good news for Brighouse as it means they will have many money-spinning local derbies.
Mansfield’s promotion could have ramifications for the NCEL as there is now space in the Premier Division. This could be filled by lateral movement or by promoting the losing Division One play-off finalists – Grimsby Borough – something which has been suggested in the last few weeks.
