Young left-back Brad Nicholson have become the latest Handsworth Parramore academy graduate to move onto higher climbs after signing for National League new-boys Chesterfield.
Parramore manager Jas Colliver, who told Non League Yorkshire last month that he was determined to blood the club’s young talent, has spoken of his pride at seeing another player fly the nest.
“We have helped open doors at a number of pro clubs for Brad and I’m delighted he’s got a deal at Chesterfield,” Colliver told the club’s website.
“He’s a talented player who has all the attributes to make it in the pro game, he’s been patient and when he was given his chance to impress in the 1st team he took it with both hands and has been superb for us.
“Brad’s success story is another great example of how young players at our club can seize the opportunity and use a 1st team opportunity to help improve their game while putting them in the shop window… and where that leads is in their own hands.
” We believed in Brad and he bought into what we were trying to achieve for him personally and for the team as a whole. The message to all our talented youngsters is simple, keep on working hard, your chance will come and when it does do your best to make the most of it.”
