Joint manager and top goal-scorer Mike Garrod has stood down at Thackley, leaving Paddy McGuire in sole charge as it stands.
Garrod and McGuire took charge early this year after the exit of Chris Reape and the pair guided the Dennyboys to safety.
A statement from Thackley said: “Because of work and family commitments, Mike has had to call a halt on his tenure as Joint Manager of Thackley FC. Mike emphasised that he would have loved to continue but he simply can no longer devote the time required to do the job to his own exacting standards.
“Mike will be a huge loss to the club but he has assured us that he will still help out with the occasional training session and could even take a place in the dugout if required.
“Mike announced a while ago that he was planning to retire from playing at the end of season 2017-18 and although he will re-sign for next season he will not be available for selection. He will be very difficult to replace, having scored more than 20 goals this season despite playing in defence for a significant part of the season.
“He has regularly topped the list of goal-scorers for Thackley over many seasons and his enthusiasm and energy will be sorely missed.
“Everybody at Thackley wishes Mike all the best for the future and we look forward to seeing him and his family around the club for many years to come.”
