Magic man Joe Dale is staying with Selby Town

Christian Fox’s plan to take Selby Town on a rocket ride to the moon has received a major boost as magic man Joe Dale is staying.

Keeping the winger is massive for the Robins as Dale was in the top ten of best players in the league last season after scoring 25 goals from the left-side and supplying lots of assists.

Remaining at the Fairfax Plant Hire Stadium was an easy decision for Dale who believes Selby can finish in the top two next year, under former York City midfielder Fox who he tips to go far in the game.

“He has brought an exciting brand of football and I think he gives players belief and the confidence to play,” Dale said.

“Christian still being manager made the decision to stay easy. I’ve worked with Christian before at Poppleton and it was a no brainer to work with him again.

“I think we can achieve promotion next year it has to be the target. As for Christian he has the knowledge and skills to manage in the Football League, but I hope he stays with Selby for a number of years

“The main reason is the lads, the team spirit we and the management created gave me a buzz to be playing and this is the most I have enjoyed my football for a number of years.

“The fans, chairman and everyone at the club have got behind us and I believe we can go one better next season.”
