New Athersley Rec midfielders Kane Reece and Kieran Scargill
Two of Pontefract Collieries’ title-winning midfielders Kane Reece and Kieran Scargill have joined Athersley Rec.
In Scargill’s case, it is a homecoming as he played for the Rec for a number of years until the last couple of years.
Barnsley-born Reece won two promotions with the Colls, and has also played for Shaw Lane and Worsbrough.
Also joining Rec are goalkeeper Sam Leigh, defender Sam Hanna and former Worsbrough manager Josh Wright, a midfielder who brings solid experience from spells with Evo Stik clubs such as Ossett Albion and Stocksbridge Park Steels.
