Ash Flynn has helped Yorkshire Amateur win at Liversedge
Yorkshire Amateur remain top of the table after edging a 5-3 victory at ten man Liversedge, but several clubs are still on their tail.
The battle for the title is turning into the most fiercely contested races in years.
Neil Sibson and Phil Harding’s men trailed three times before two late goals swung the local derby in their favour. ‘Sedge also had debutant Sam Holt sent off when the scores were 3-3.
Sedge were pegged back after every goal – scored by Brandon Kane, Tom Brook and Rhys Davies. Ash Flynn and Callum Charlton and Fernando Moke ensured the Ammers remained in it.
Flynn and then Charlton then secured the three points for the Leeds-based outfit.
Penistone Church are second following their 4-2 victory in the Barnsley-derby with Athersley Rec. Sam Scrivens (2), Kieran Ryan and Nathan Keightley hit the target.
Knaresborough Town dropped to third after a goal-less draw with Bottesford Town which was played out in front of an impressive 149 people.
Bridlington Town are now in the mix too as the Brett Agnew-effect continues to reap rewards. Fraser Papprill, Jake Day and Joe McFadyen secured them a 3-0 home win over Hemsworth Miners Welfare, another side fairing well this season.
Handsworth Parramore are now fifth after a defeating Garforth Town 3-1. Brad Nicholson, Ollie Fearon and Josh Hemmingway struck for Parramore. Garforth’s captain marvel James Beaston scored a rare goal for his side.
