Worsbrough Bridge 2-2 AFC Emley
Player/manager Lee Morris led from the front as Worsbrough Bridge drew with AFC Emley after recovering from an horrendous start.
Bridge allowed Shane Hamilton to score twice in the opening two minutes. Fortunately for Worsbrough, they fought back through an own goal and a Morris penalty
Morris fielded new stellar signing Liam Owen in the centre of midfield, allowing the youngster to be the brain-box of the Bridge team with his ability to play sagacious passes.
Initially Owen must have been thinking he was in for a long afternoon as Bridge capitulated by two conceding two goals in just 180 seconds.
Worsbrough did recover and they started to press and a way back was found when Danny Stocker headed the ball into his own net.
Bridge threw everything at Emley in the second half. The pressure was cranked right up and when Kieran Hirst hit the post, Bridge could feel an equaliser coming.
It took a penalty in the end and Morris, a legendary Non League striker in his day for the likes of Frickley Athletic and Buxton, comfortably fired home.
He and his men continued to press for the winner, but Emley held on for the draw.
