Tom Corner has joined North Ferriby, just days after Pontefract Collieries said he was taking a year out of football.
Corner now looks set to play a major role in Ferriby’s rebirth as he started in the club’s ‘debut’ game against a Sheffield United X1 on Friday night.
The former Tadcaster Albion and Ossett Albion forward joins an already impressive Ferriby side who look like they will have a positive first campaign in Toolstation NCEL Division One.
The rebirth of the club was completed with the friendly last night.
Ferriby’s return to action was quite spectacular as they won a corner in the first minute. The corner was swung into the box and Dan Nichols leapt to head home.
That was the only goal of the game in front of the packed Church Street.
