Popular boss Vill Powell has signed a new two-year contract with Brighouse Town.
Assuming the former Sheffield FC striker stays the course of his new deal, he will have been in charge of Brighouse for four seasons.
Powell has proved to be a worthy successor to the long-serving Paul Quinn, who stepped down in May 2017 after six years at the helm. Brighouse struggled in his first campaign, but then stunned many by finishing in the NPL North play-offs.
Town beat Pontefract Collieries in the final and were only denied promotion because of the bizarre points-per-game ratio rules which affected a number of play-off final winning teams across the country.
“I’m delighted to have signed for another two years. It’s solely going to be a two year project and I want to build on the success from last season,” Powell said.
Chairman James Howard added “Following on from our most successful ever season on-and-off-the-pitch, we feel that Vill is the right man to take us one step further and secure promotion to the Northern Premier League. We wish Vill all the success for the coming season.”
