Striker Ryan Poskitt has now signed for Armthorpe Welfare after playing in pre-season for Mike Carmody’s men.
Poskitt’s official arrival was confirmed hours after his goal in the 2-0 win over Newark Town.
Poskitt, affectionally known in football circles as ‘The Showman’, decided against returning to Glasshoughton Welfare where he was well-loved.
He brings a lot of qualities to Armthorpe. One is his penchant for scoring spectacular goals. Two is his experience which he has garnered from playing in the NCEL for over ten years for the likes of Worsbrough Bridge, Pontefract Collieries, Nostell Miners Welfare and Glasshoughton.
Poskitt told Non League Yorkshire: “It is a fresh challenge with a complete new set of lads who will get me back motivated.
“I feel good at the minute and getting fitter by the games thrown at me through pre-season. Yes I’ve had interest from a couple of clubs, but which player hasn’t at this stage of pre season.
“I can’t thank Mike, Jacko (Alan Jackson) and Craig Laight enough for the interest and patience they’ve shown in me and the game-time they’ve given me when I’ve been available.
“I’ve enjoyed what I’ve seen so far at Armthorpe. There’s a good mix of youth and experience. I am now really looking forward to the season ahead.”
