Golcar United introduced themselves to the North West Counties First Division North with a 2-1 victory over Prestwich Heys, with almost 400 people watching on.
The former Emley AFC striker Alex Hallam hit the winner on the stroke of half-time with a close range strike.
Golcar had enjoyed a great start as Ben Burnett fired them ahead before Will Shawcross levelled for Prestwich.
Golcar, jointly-managed by Gavin Connor and his ex-Ossett Albion goalkeeper brother Ashley, have many familiar faces in their squad. Ex-Emley players Harry Stead, Gregg Porter, Jordan Townend, Hallam and Michael Tunnacliffe are the names who roll off the tongue.
