Silsden enjoyed a perfect start to their time in the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division after winning 2-1 at last season’s runners-up Penistone Church.
Danny Forrest’s men earned the points thanks to goals from Khurram Shazad and Aiden Kirby. Church defender Brett Lovell scored a last minute consolation.
Hemsworth Miners Welfare held on to beat Grimsby Borough 2-1. Rikki Paylor and Declan Parker put Hemsworth into a strong position and they saw the game out successfully despite Josh Venney’s goal for Grimsby.
Yorkshire Amateur cruised to a 3-0 win at Barton Town. Ash Flynn got two, with Fernando Moke adding the other.
A penalty from Nathan Walker rescued a point for Bridlington Town in the 3-3 epic draw with Thackley at Queensgate.
Thackley led three times, but Bridlington kept hitting back. Jack Normanton, Ben Grech-Brooksbank and a Fraser Papprill own goal were on the score-sheet for Thackley. Matthew Broadley and Charlie Birley also scored for Bridlington.
Albion Sports, now under the management of John Francis, went down 3-2 at Bottesford Town.
