Marquee signing Tom Corner hit a hat-trick on his competitive debut as reborn North Ferriby eased to victory at local rivals East Hull.
The victory – a sweet one for various reasons – is their first of the new era in Division One of the Toolstation NCEL.
Corner, who played for Ossett United in the BetVictor last season, missed a first half penalty, but was able to score from the rebound.
Corner added his second on the hour mark. Hull’s goalkeeper carelessly gifted the ball to Corner, who responded by lobbing him.
The match-ball was secured in the final minute when Jamie Forrester’s corner was spilled directly in front of Corner who couldn’t miss.
Jordan Snodin enjoyed a dream Armthorpe Welfare debut as Mike Carmody’s men celebrated their first win of the season with the 3-0 success at Swallownest.
The Showman Ryan Poskitt was at the centre of the opener as it was his pass which set up Liam Radford.
Snodin’s wonder goal came in the second half as he struck from 25-yards out and beat former Worsbrough Bridge goalkeeper Richard Watson.
Tyler Walker sealed the win with a deflected effort.
Lee Morris’ Worsbrough earned their first point of the season following a 1-1 stalemate at Ollerton Town.
The returning Sam Corner hit Worsbrough’s equaliser in the first half. Ollerton missed a second half penalty.
Glasshoughton Welfare were left devastated after Jonathan Fusco’s last minute goal snatched a 3-2 victory for Parkgate.
Welfare took the lead with barely 30 seconds on the clock through Craig Tonkinson, but were pegged back by Parkgate’s Fusco. The home side took the lead early in the second half as Bruno Holden struck, but Welfare fought back to equalise thanks to Lewis Pickering. A couple of missed chances then proved costly as Parkgate got the winner in injury time.
Rossington Main were well-beaten 3-1 at Skegness Town. James Bytheway scored Rossington’s goal when Skegness already led 3-0.
