Jason Dodsworth was impressed with how clinical his Nostell Miners Welfare side were in the 4-1 triumph over Campion.
Goals from Danny Edwards (2), Brad Kilburn and Jack Owen eased Nostell to back-to-back Toolstation NCEL Division One victories.
“I’m really pleased with the performance and I thought the lads were fantastic,” joint manager Dodsworth told Non League Yorkshire.
“We have a certain way we want to play and when we stick to that way, at times we look unplayable. We have a lot of pace and quality on the field and as we saw today we have goal-scorers.
“The goals aren’t coming from just one or two people, they’re getting shared about so yeah I’m really happy.
“You could argue that our second goal and their equaliser were freak, but I’m not bothered.
“As for the third one, to be fair to Brad he does normally score headers from corners. He’ll probably say it was a great strike which it was, but it was a cross.
“Danny Edwards from the under 21s has scored in every game so far and he’s only had one start and that was today. The lad is flying. It was a great team performance.
“We started well, got the goals and saw the game out. We managed the game really well.”
Winless in pre-season, Nostell have responded to any critics by winning their first two league games alongside taking Northern League giants Stockton Town to a replay in the FA Cup.
Dodsworth is pleased and says his squad is strong.
“It has been a positive start,” he said.
“We said to the lads, yeah we didn’t win a game in pre-season, but that was because we were playing teams from the leagues above.
“When we come into this league and put the kind of performances in we put in against higher league sides, you see the difference and I think we are seeing it now.
“I don’t see the point of having easy friendlies and going and winning six or seven-nil each week, lads will get nothing out of it.
“I would rather have teams playing us off the park and the lads getting fitness.
“I think we have a really good squad. We kept all the lads from last year, obviously one or two have gone this week, but we have added some quality to the squad.
“If you look at the bench today, it was a really strong bench and that is what you need to do well in this league. There is no good in having 11 or 12 good lads and then bench-filling.
“We have a strong number of 16/18 lads and hopefully they will all stick around. It is difficult keeping everyone happy, but at the end of the day the players pick themselves.
“If they are playing well they will keep their shirts. If they don’t play they know someone with quality is waiting in the wings.”
Dodsworth also confirmed that captain Rhys Meynell was brought off on the hour as a pre-caution. The former Guiseley defender has been struggling with an achilles problem, but should be fit for the trip to East Hull on Tuesday night.
