Conor Glavin and own goal earned Emley AFC a point from the 2-2 draw at Ashton Town.
Emley trailed twice in the First Division North fixture. Ashton led at half-time thanks to Dylan Glass’s close range range header.
Torrential rain started as the second half began and Glavin’s header – helped on its way by dubious goalkeeping – levelled matters.
Another header helped put Ashton back in front. George Clarke saved the attempt, but Glass put the rebound in.
The lead lasted three minutes as Emley went for broke to force the equaliser. Rob Bordman and Dom Riordan were involved as the ball was eventually forced home in a mass scramble. Riordan claimed it, but it has gone down as an own goal.
The last 20 minutes saw both teams push for the winner. Ultimately it ended a draw.
Shelley cruised to a 4-1 success over AFC Darwen, with Ryan Blackburn, Craig Billington, Dan Keane and Israel Johnson scoring.
Golcar United lost 2-1 at Atherton LR – Ryan McKay-John gave Golcar late hope.
Steeton were beaten 1-0 at home by Cleator Moor Celtic.
