Yorkshire Amateur returned to winning ways with a comprehensive 3-0 victory over Maltby Main at Bracken Edge, with midfielder Brice Tiani scoring twice.
It was the perfect response to Saturday’s Toolstation NCEL Premier Division defeat to Garforth Town in the East Leeds El-Clasico by Neil Sibson and Phil Harding’s men.
A free-flowing attack set up the opener in the 25th minute, with the ex-Guiseley and Farsley man Tiani slotting in from close range. He started the move and after exchanges with Fernando Moke and Ash Flynn, Tiani forced his way through to score.
The Ammers continued to take the game to Maltby and with the pressure mounting, Tiani hit a delightful effort from distance to double the lead on the stroke of half-time.
The contest was all over straight after the break. Moke and Flynn linked up superbly and the latter smashed the ball home from inside the penalty area.
It was a night to forget for Hemsworth Miners Welfare who suffered a surprise 3-0 defeat at Albion Sports.
The Wells had a mountain to climb at half-time as Marcel Chigumira (2) and Alhassane Keita scored and there was no way back after the break.
In Division One, Parkgate were another team 3-0 up at half-time as Elliott Simpson and Simon Harrison’s double saw them ease past Hall Road Rangers.
Gary Bradshaw struck a second half consolation for Hall Road.
Harrogate Railway gave everything again, but were beaten 2-0 at promotion-chasing Winterton Rangers.
Railway finished the game with ten men as Ryan Ferguson limped off injured with ten minutes to go. Des Macorison had used all three of his substitutions.
