Yorkshire Amateur came from behind to win 5-2 against injury-hit Knaresborough Town at Manse Lane.
The Ammers hit back to claim the three points, with Ash Flynn (2), Fernando Moke, Brice Tiani and Steve Crawford netting in the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division clash.
Knaresborough lost goalkeeper Sam Lee to injury in the first half and with no stopper on the bench, outfield player Paul Atkinson was forced to go between the sticks.
Luke Harrop danced his way through for the opener three minutes into the second half.
Neil Sibson and Phil Harding’s men turned the screw and struck three times across either side of the hour mark. Moke and Tiani’s close range finishes spun the game away from Knaresborough.
Flynn then headed the third to stretch the Ammers’ lead.
Knaresborough were presented with a way back when defender Niall Heaton turned a free kick into his own net and for 20 minutes 3-2 is how it remained.
With the game reaching its conclusion, Crawford scored the goal of the day after an incredible solo run down the left-wing – his first competitive goal since stepping up from the West Yorkshire League.
Flynn hit the fifth in added time.
Ammers Assistant manager Craig Ogilvie said: “It was a very good and important win for us today as they all are. Scoring five goals away from home is fantastic and I thought we throughly deserved the three points.
“Patience was always going to be the key and we expressed it before the game and also at half time. We actually played some good stuff, especially in the final third considering the grass was left long, disrupting our passing game but it didn’t seem to phase us too much to be honest.
“Over the course of the full 90 minutes excluding the goals I think Ed our goalkeeper has had one real save to make which probably tells you how the game went.
“We were clinical in the second half and the fact we went 1-0 down and still won is huge for us.
“This group of lads I think are different to previous seasons and mentally we are getting stronger and stronger.
“I thought Ross Daly in the middle of the park for us was superb and everything we did well came through him today. He was a doubt initially before the game but got through the game which shows the desire we have amongst the lads to play and win games. He was vital in the build up to a few of our goals today.”
Thackley edged to a 3-2 victory in the Bradford derby with Albion Sports at Throstle Nest.
Jack Normanton (2) and Asa Mitchell were Paddy McGuire’s heroes.
Alhassane Keita got Albion’s goals.
Athersley Rec were beaten 5-0 at Grimsby Borough.
