Last gasp hero Ben Hampson headed Ossett United to their first BetVictor North West victory of the season in the solitary goal victory over Pickering Town.
Andy Welsh’s men had to be extremely patient in the competitive clash with Pickering, who are pointless and bottom of the table after five games.
But in fairness to the Pikes, they had their chances and even missed a first half penalty as Ryan Blott blazed his spot kick high and wide.
Ossett themselves had plenty of opportunities. Nick Guest had an effort cleared off-the-line in the first half.
But Hampson’s moment of glory came with just three minutes left on the clock when he rose to head home Alex McQuade’s cross.
In the Premier Division, John Deacey’s Scarborough Athletic lost 2-0 in the derby clash at Whitby Town.
