Rob Bordman catapulted Emley AFC into the FA Vase second qualifying round with his dramatic last minute goal in the 2-1 replay victory at Burscough.
The boot was on the other foot for Burscough as it was their late equaliser on Sunday at the Welfare Ground that forced the second instalment that forced Emley to travel to West Lancashire in midweek.
Just like the original tie on Sunday, Emley went ahead in the ninth, with Danny Farrar scoring from a corner.
Cameron Dalton levelled matters on the half-hour mark against the run of play.
Emley had to wait until the final throes to claim victory. Whilst it wasn’t a goal from his repertoire of spectacular strikes, it was still a memorable moment. Bordman used his strength to hold off a defender before firing into the bottom corner.
