Nostell Miners Welfare 3-2 Selby Town
Danny Edwards’ double and captain Rhys Meynell’s match-winning header overturned a 2-0 half-time deficit as Nostell Miners Welfare beat promotion rivals Selby Town.
The victory at Crofton Community Centre continues Nostell’s perfect start to the Toolstation NCEL Division One season.
But they did the hard way as Chris Jackson placed Christian Fox’s men in front after firing home the rebound from Danny Walker’s effort.
Flanagan netted Selby’s second on the stroke of half-time – another rebound and it looked like Nostell were sinking without trace.
Nostell took the game to Selby after the break after began launching multiple crosses into the penalty area.
It paid off as one of those from Richard Collier came back off the crossbar and landed kindly for Edwards to finish.
The pressure was building and Edwards completed the fight-back, heading home from a half-time substitute Nathan Hawkhead cross.
Selby’s Danny Snaith then saw red after committing a second bookable offence and Nostell got their winner straightaway from the free kick with a Meynell header.
