Hemsworth Miners Welfare 3-2 Thackley
Seon Ripley scored a dramatic 97th minute winner as Hemsworth Miners Welfare edged a helter-skelter battle with Thackley to go top of the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division.
It was like the Nick Guest days on playback because of the incredible finale.
The Wells are only like to hold pole position until 5pm as several teams could overtake them.
Thackley could have gone top with a victory and Paddy McGuire’s men initially put themselves on course to do after Jack Normanton scored.
However, former Farsley Celtic striker Adam Muller was then sent off for a challenge on Jordan Greaves.
Hemsworth struck twice before the break, with Steven Jeff helping the equaliser on its way before Jay Davis latched onto Sidney Santos’ cross to place the Wells ahead.
A Normanton penalty levelled matters five minutes into the second half and that set up a frantic finish.
Greaves was on form, making saves, while Hemsworth’s Adam Wilson hit the post before Ripley made himself the hero.
