Bridlington go back top, but Ammers remain on tail

Chris Adams scored within seconds of coming off the bench in Bridlington’s 3-0 win over Handsworth

Brett Agnew’s Bridlington Town are back on top of the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division after beating Handsworth 3-0 at Queensgate.

Billy Logan’s deflected strike put Bridlington ahead in the 35th minute.

Into the second half and the second goal brought controversy as Ben Townsend was adjudged to have brought down Josh Greening down. McFadyen scored the penalty which deeply upset Handsworth who had Alex Varley sin-binned and manager Russ Eagle ejected from the dugout.

Brid soon sealed their victory and within seconds of coming off the bench, Chris Adams slid the ball home from close range.

Yorkshire Amateur remain on Brid’s tail as they are a point behind with a game-in-hand following the 5-0 crushing of Silsden in Bradford.
