Jimmy Eyles returned Emley to winning ways with the second half winner in the 2-1 comeback win over Nelson at the Welfare Ground.
Richard Tracey and Mark Wilson’s Emley had trailed at half-time in the North West Counties First Division North fixture to Aaron Hollindrake’s header.
Emley responded straight after the break. A free kick was sent it from the right and Andy McManus, also unmarked, powered a header past the keeper at the shed end.
The winner came in bizarre fashion. Former Nostell and Shaw Lane striker Eyles, chased a ball down and as he got it, the ball appeared to have run away from him, but the goalkeeper inadvertently pushed the Emley forward who managed to get a toe end on it to steer it in off the post.
Michael Tunnacliffe, Alex Hallam and Buddy Cox were on the score-sheet as Golcar United came from behind to beat AFC Darwen 3-1 at home.
Jacob Robertson’s goal was a mere consolation as Shelley lost 4-1 at Holker Old Boys.
Steeton drew 0-0 at Daisy Hill.
