The Showman Ryan Poskitt oozed quality as he scored his first Armthorpe Welfare goal and set another up as Mike Carmody’s men continued their positive start to the Toolstation NCEL Division One season with a 2-0 win at East Hull.

Adam Lee also got his first goal since returning to the Welfare and it was he who broke the deadlock in the 16th minute during a bizarre 60 seconds which saw him initially have a penalty saved..

Luke Williams was brought down inside the box, but Lee saw his penalty pushed away by Harrison Chapman-Dusher with the ball being cleared for a corner.

The always intelligent Poskitt took the corner quickly to Steve Garner whose ball into the box was controlled by Lee and steered into the net from six yards.

Poskitt triumphantly got his moment in the sun near to the full-time whistle.

Williams ran at the home defence before passing to Poskitt in acres of space. With the pressure mounting, Poskitt was cool as a cucumber and his confidently hit shot beat Chapman-Dusher.

Jordan Turner hit four as Harrogate Railway lost 5-0 at Hallam. Kiyani Clayton completed the win for Hallam, who faced ten men for a lot of the second half as Frazer Lancaster was sent off.

Worsbrough Bridge gave it a good shot at high-flying Retford FC, but lost 4-2.

Danny Palmer gave them the lead, but it was quickly cancelled out. Ash Emmett did equalise at 2-2, but Retford went onto win it.
