Harrogate Railway captain and star striker Joe Jagger has rejoined BetVictor North West outfit Brighouse Town after receiving Des Macorison’s blessing.
Jagger had previously pledged to stay with Railway for the whole season, but Macorison says the opportunity of playing BetVictor football again is one the striker cannot turn down.
The powerful forward previously wore the colours of Brighouse during the Paul Quinn era when they won the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division title.
“It is a big loss for us, but it is a chance for Jags to progress as a player,” Macorison told Non League Yorkshire.
“When I found out that Brighouse wanted him I endorsed the move straightaway. I told him he can’t turn down the chance to play in the BetVictor.
“I’ve been held back previously when I was younger so I’m not going to start going around and stifling someone’s career.
“I wish him all the luck and if it doesn’t work out, he knows he can come back.”
Jagger was tipped in the summer to be a star player for Railway having scored 42 goals for Littletown in the defunct West Riding County Amateur League.
He has been prolific for Railway so it is hardly a surprise that clubs have moved in for him.
Jagger is ineligible for Brighouse’s FA Trophy tie with Tadcaster Albion as cup rules decreed that he must have signed before Saturday’s postponement.
