Ryan Blott’s fabulous free kick helped Pickering Town win 3-1 at Stocksbridge Park Steels after extra-time in the FA Trophy.
The victory was hard-earned as the Pikes really had to weather a storm from Stocksbridge in the first half.
But after overcoming that, Matty Turnbull headed home Blott’s free kick. The lead did not last long as Jordan Lemon volleyed the Steels level.
The scored remained at 1-1 so extra-time was required and on the stroke of half-time in the additional 30 minutes, Blott curled home a free kick from the edge of the penalty area.
Super Sam Cable then sealed it in the dying seconds after Pickering mounted a counter-attack.
