Ruthless Scott Ruthven scored four times as Stocksbridge Park Steels impressively won 5-2 at fellow high-flyers Ilkeston FC.
It was a spectacular victory for the Steels, whose star striker Danny Frost must be wondering if he will get back into the side when he’s back from injury, after his team-mates completed such a rout.
Chris Hilton’s men were incredibly leading 4-0 at the break after a fast and furious start.
Ruthven opened the scoring with a header in the 19th minute. Almost straight from the kick-off, Josh Nodder raced through to add the second.
Ruthven scored twice more before the interval to complete his treble. He added his fourth early in the second half.
Two consolation goals from Ilkeston reduced the deficit in the second stanza.
