John Deacey has left Scarborough Athletic after a poor run of form.
Scarborough, who had hopes of mounting a promotion bid, are stranded in the bottom half of the BetVictor Premier Division table.
Supporters have been calling for his departure for a number of weeks, and the defeat at Witton Albion has led to his exit by mutual consent.
A statement said: “We would like to inform our supporters that our manager John Deacey has today left the club by mutual consent.
“We appointed John based on his excellent track record of getting teams promoted from our current league and the league above. Sadly both for John and ourselves we are not seeing the progress we had anticipated.
“We would like to put on record that John has worked extremely hard during his time with us and we thank him for that and wish him well for the future.”
Deacey, who has managed Harrogate Town, Farsley Celtic and Bradford (Park Avenue), had hoped to win a third promotion as a manager after previously leading to Farsley and Bradford to higher climbs.
