Star striker Danny Frost, one of the best Step 4 and 5 forwards to come out of Barnsley in the past ten years, is extremely close to his eagerly-anticipated Stocksbridge Park Steels return.
It is great timing as Stocksbridge prepare for an assault on the BetVictor South East top places over the next few months.
For those who do not know, the former Shaw Lane and Ossett Town perennial hero has been injured since pre-season.
At first it was feared that he may require surgery. Eventually in early October he was given the all-clear and he recently returned to full training.
Had Stocksbridge’s last two games gone ahead, Frost would have been in the 16-man squad. He is now in line to be in the squad for Saturday’s home game against Newcastle Town – news that will really excite Non League followers across the region.
There is further good news for Chris Hilton
Nenad Smilianic is also back in full training. Another injured star man Ross Goodwin will be return to training next week.
