Former top Non League striker Lutel James and Les Nelson have taken charge of Goole AFC.
It is the pair’s first appointment on the NCEL stage. They are best known in the dugout for guiding Whitkirk Wanderers to promotion out of Division One of the West Yorkshire League and into the WYL Premier Division.
James in his day was a leading and highly-sought striker for clubs such as Altrincham, Accrington Stanley and Guiseley. He also played in the Football League for Bury.
Off-the-field he has also been commended for his community work in Chapeltown in Leeds.
Nelson played locally for years in Leeds and as a manager enjoyed great success with Seacroft WMC on a Sunday morning. He then moved onto Whitkirk to link up with James.
Since leaving Whitkirk in the summer, he has been running the West Yorkshire Representative side and helping Glasshoughton Welfare on the scouting front.
James and Nelson are Goole’s 13th managerial appointment since 2013. They replace Terry Barwick and Matty Bloor.
They will be assisted Simon Portrey, Sean Burton and Steve Gilmore.
