Popular striker Steve Bromley has returned to Harrogate Railway to boost their survival bid.
Bromley heads back to Station View after nearly three years at Knaresborough Town who he helped win the Toolstation NCEL Division One title in 2018.
He spent three years with Railway during his first spell and was a key member of Billy Miller’s great side which secured Railway their highest ever league finish in 2015 in the NPL Division One North.
He stayed on during the Lee Ashforth and then Paul Beesley reigns. His final acts in a Railway were his heroic captain displays under Ray Green which were crucial as the club avoided relegation from the Premier Division in 2017.
The task is harder this time as Railway, now under Mick O’Connell’s stewardship, are ten points adrift of third-bottom Worsbrough Bridge. They face an almighty battle to avoid finishing in the bottom two.
Harrogate’s attack was recently weakened by the departure of captain Toby Harris to Knaresborough. The Rail’ have never recovered from the departure of Joe Jagger as results have been in free-fall since he went to Brighouse Town.
